"Don’t underestimate the effects of your actions. What’s small to you may be big for somebody else. The little things that you feel go unnoticed could be the same things that make a persons day. Don’t stop doing good things because of people, do good things for you, do good things because good works attract goodness, and earn favor. If you’re feeling unappreciated you may be planting seeds in unfertile land. You can’t expect reciprocity from the selfish. The key to being appreciated is knowing what kind of people know how to appreciate. If you only give to takers, you’ll always feel taken for granted. Give to people that are capable of receiving what you put out in way that doesn’t make you feel like you need a return. Appreciate yourself, love and adore yourself, that way you won’t need other people to validate your worth. Do good things for the sake of being genuine, not for the sake of being acknowledged. A good heart can take you places. Everybody gives in their own way. Everybody appreciates in their own way. Learn to accept people for who they are. Stop allowing selfish people to faze you and start giving deserving people the chance to appreciate you. The choice to have happiness depends on the decisions you make when it comes to keeping certain people around. Stop letting negative things set you back. If you’re going to let it change you, make it be a change for the better. Show what’s in your heart; let the truest form of yourself radiate and shine in ways nobody can dim. Don’t be discouraged by short-term get back, stay true to your heart and it will pay off. God promised you that." -Rob Hill Sr.
